I was lucky enough to be asked by a pop band from Barcelona called Suzy and Los Quattro (no. Not Suzi Quatro) to help record a couple of albums with them.
Aside from it being awesome and having a great time creating with really great musicians (check out their stuff! g.co/kgs/P24zBj), I was consistently impressed at the level of songs by primary writer Jonathan Vidal (BB Quattro). Each one an anthem of its own with words actually about something.
Like this one.
A defiant ode to the power of marching to the beat of your own drummer.
I played everything.
Joel Valder mixed.
And now go listen to some Suzy and Los Quattro!
Maybe I'm wrong to think there's cool stuff to be done in my soul
All this time's gone by and I'm still not wearing a tie
Maybe I'm wrong, I'm still having fun
Maybe I'm wrong to follow feelings in my heart
Maybe I'm wrong to choose a way that many feel isn't smart
It's taken so long to become the one I dreamt when I was young
Fear is all gone, so that can't be wrong
It was strange to realize I could rule things in my life
so maybe I'm wrong, but I feel so strong
Maybe they're wrong to see the world in black and white
Maybe I'm wrong to hope this darkness finally turns into light
It might be an uphill climb, but I know it's right this time
Tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong
So I come to realize it's nobody's but my life
if I'm on my own that can't be wrong
I just know my future's bright so to hell with wrong or right
Maybe I'm wrong, I don't think I'm wrong.
